This Photo Gallery contains examples of FOKKER Dr.1 TRIPLANES built from RON SANDS Drawings.

Triplane replica built by Ron Sands in the late 1960s.  Powered by a Warner 165HP radial engine.  Is currently on display at the Chilean Air Force Museum (Museo Nacional Aeronautico y del Espacio de Chile) where it is flown during air shows.

Another Dr.1 built by Klaus Roth has taken flight.   The call sign is D-EKLR. 

Klaus reports "The maiden flight was Oct.10th (2023) and all went very well. It is equipped with a rotary engine from CAMS, New Zealand.

Fokker Dr.1 Triplane Replica (G-FOKK) built by Paul Ford from Ron Sands drawings.

We are writing to let you know about a recently (2008) finished Fokker Dr.1 from Ron Sands plans, in the UK. It has taken 4 years, 3500 hours.

The first test flight took place on April 26th (2008) at Sywell Aerodrome, Northants, UK. The test flight programme has been carried out by Matthew Boddington.

 

The Dr.1 appeared at a public display for the first time on August 24th (2008), at the Sywell Show.

John reports "All up weight 1380 pounds.  Flys a treat.  Engine 145 Warner.  Took 3-1/2 years to build.  Great set of drawings your Dad produced.  They were the best set of drawings I have worked from and I have worked with a few!"
